The new aggression war against the people of Afghanistan and against the whole Islamic world is also aimed to increase the blackmailing policy against immigrant workers. At the same time it represents the best opportunity for people whose goal is to fully exploit your life and to discrimate and criminalize you to deepen these same goals with even more violence. As a result every immigrant worker – regardless of his religion or nationality – is actually considered as an "Islamic" (in the sense he is determined to going on with his struggle) to put under control.
We Internationalists are aware of this situation and denounce it to the Italian workers and to the young people. On the other side we renew our total support to your struggles and to your organizations. We fraternally place our seats to your disposal, especially now, when you are the target of new brutal aggressions.
Berlusconi’s government kept his word and through the Bossi-Fini bill targeted all of you while declaring total war "against immigrants" and discovering what you actually know since ever, that is that you are considered as merely "labor-goods" to be exploited if the bosses find it necessary to and to be sent back to your countries of origin when your labor force is no more requested. They say you are not allowed to stand up and organize, you’re not allowed even to have any right. Every step taken to stand against this slavery condition will lead the government or your bosses to immediately deny you the permit to stay. The left-coalition’s immigration policy didn’t differ so much being quite similar to Berlusconi’s one.
The principal blackmailing instrument is the permit to stay. It represents for you the first step to get out from your "illegal" status and to get rid of working "black" and of the abject blackmails you can’t help giving in. For the bourgeoisie it represents as well an instrument to control you as a way to make you "easy labour-force" in the hands of your bosses. According to the new immigrants bill it is going to be more difficult to obtain the permit to stay and even for people who already got their "papers" the situation is about to worsen.
These worsening conditions for you as immigrant workers are nothing but the other side of a war you already experienced in your home countries as people targeted by western wars and exploitation. Your struggle is more and more necessary and will be more and more hard. We don’t doubt you will be up to the tasks of this struggle and you’ll reinforce the ties between you and your people, being your struggle and your enemies one and the same. As immigrant workers you’ve been demonstrating since ever a strong detemination to fight against the exploitation and the racial discrimination you’re subject to in spite of the present difficulties. Your struggle is exemplary for Italian workers. They must join your struggle and support you. We know how difficult it can be to establish this tie. Italian workers cannot help seeing how your life is based on discrimination and how bad your working conditions are; they often don’t approve of this situation; still they’re at the moment unable to realize that this discrimination is aimed to attack and blackmail the Italian workers as well. Declaring its purpose to apply similar policies also against them, Berlusconi’s government will probably let them understand that the lot of Italian and immigrant workers is one and the same. Consequently we have to bridge the gap between us and unite in a single class front consisting of workers of all the nations and of all the religions (or regardless of the religion).
As communists we support unconditionally your struggle and the struggle of your people against imperialism and against this new criminal war to the Islamic masses and to all the South of the world!
